The food was fantastic, the customer service was extremely attentive despite them being busy, and the ambiance was so perfectly cozy. We got the French toast, chorizo omelette, the eggs Benedict, and chocolate chip pancakes with 3 servings of bacon on the side and some delightfully fluffy pancakes with a pat of butter on the top, a blueberry compote on the side and some syrup. For beverages we had two cups of delightful diner style coffee and a lovely espresso. Truly a sensational staple of Silverdale!
Had a great experience here. Everyone was so nice. I love the Salmon Benedict and the German Pancakes. Highly recommend the Viennes if cinnamon is your thing. I really liked my peppermint mocha as well. Overall beautiful place with awesome vibes. Make sure you call ahead to get on the wait list. They are very nice about it.
Oak Table Café has a history with me. I’ve been what I’d call a “distant regular” for many years, since I was actually pretty young and there was a location in Kingston. Used to walk on to the ferry and walk up to the Kingston location with my family, usually for birthdays or other such events. We never made a big deal of the event, because the food, environment, and service at the Kingston location always made you feel simultaneously like you were somewhere special and also right at home. Nowadays, as an adult with a full time job, finding the time to take the ferry over and drive down to Silverdale is a bit more of a required effort, but with the way that this place has treated me and my family over the years, I’ll come back until I physically can’t anymore. I’ve always gotten the same thing. Cup of coffee and a Mexican Omelette with Pepperjack cheese. I cannot express a word beyond the concept of comforting, but it’s how breakfast here feels. Actually didn’t know they had a chai until today. Shocker: it’s delicious. I want this place to thrive forever, so I wouldn’t dare gatekeep it. If you can handle the early wakeup to get here around when they open, it’s worth the drive and then some. If you can handle the crowds that pack in as that first hour or two passes, it’s worth the drive, AND the wait, and then some. This place is one of the few small things that, in some ways, makes me feel like I’m a kid again, watching my big brother get the German Pancake on his birthday, or seeing my family slowly perk up over coffee and delicious food. As time and life push people apart, the Oak Table Café, and its deeply caring staff… they bring people together. Never change, Oak Table. Never change.
Wow! We had the most delicious breakfast at the Oak Table Cafe in Silverdale. We shared the Apple Pancake which was filled with sliced apples and browned to perfection. The pancake was more than enough for the two of us. It was served with apple syrup on the side which is like an apple honey that enhanced the pancake flavors. The service was outstanding and it was a wonderful meal overall.
Trying to a get a table to this place can be hard but going at the right time is the key. We went, looks like after the breakfast crowd but before the brunch crowd. Parking lot is a very good indicator of how busy they are. They don’t take reservations. It’s first come first serve. Line out the door means you might be there a while. Great for 2-4 people, larger groups may need to wait longer. Brunch on a weekday is perfect. No kids as majority of them are in school. Visiting on a weekend it’s always going to pose challenges to get a table. The bacon and ham omelet is fluffy and full of flavor. Wife says it’s very close to a French style. At first glance we thought it was bread but it’s airy and flavorful! Smashed potatoes were seasoned well and cooked where even if skin on, not too much chew but doesn’t fall apart. Biscuits and gravy is a gargantuan portion. Their biscuits are huge and you get four of them. I still had to ask for extra gravy so I could smother everything. The taste might throw you off as they add sherry and thyme. It gives more of a savory dairy taste than others who rely on the meat to spice and season. I personally added more pepper (from and grinder, not a shaker) and salt. Eggs are swimming with the butter. Good but could have used a bit more crisping. Bacon pieces are huge. Cooked well, seasoned wonderful! Not chewy but enough crisp so it doesn’t feel overcooked. I would advise to sit in the main room or a window seat. It’s bright but not loud with the amount of people. There’s acoustic absorption in the raised vaulted angled ceiling. Waiters are attentive, many of them rotating and watching the tables than just one person. Water and coffee topped off all the time! For a first time, I’m happy for all that we got! Will be dining more often.
