The Commons Cafe and Taproom

Excellent spot for a relaxing drink, truly enjoyed coming here everyday during my visit in Bend.

This was the most delicious coffee I've ever had. I'm not a coffee snob, to be honest. I just like coffee, whatever the coffee. But I have travelled the world and I have never ever enjoyed a coffee so much. The flavor blew my mind and I can't stop thinking about it. I was in the cafe with my kids, the atmosphere was very quiet and laptoppy, definitely got a few people giving me the, "no kids wanted" vibe. But that's just the clientele, not the cafe. There was a family conversation game on the table that said, "no, your kids are fine." I definitely felt like I was in the 90s. Great location! I'

How I wanted to love this place. The building and location are second to none. The other patrons were friendly and peaceful. The pastry selections we had were quite nice, but served in paper bags with no cutlery rather than plates. The coffee was a disappointment, the americano was watery and the breve seemed burnt, very bitter, no foam; I left it there. Service: not so helpful. This place was the HIGHLIGHT of our trip to bend! Delicious golden milk and gluten-free/vegan seed bread…YUM. Great atmosphere to pull out a book or work. Also, a really lovely view of the river. It’s the top of our list for when we return to bend. 💚

Great place for studying and working. I enjoy the mid century style and the service. Typically seating is limited so be prepared to sit outside for a bit till an indoor seat becomes available.
