We went to Portage Bay Cafe for brunch during our Seattle visit, and it was a really enjoyable experience. The food was delicious and exactly what we were hoping for from a good brunch spot. Everything felt fresh, well-prepared, and full of flavor. The atmosphere was also nice, relaxed, welcoming, and a great place to spend a good morning. What I liked most was that it felt like a proper brunch experience rather than just a quick meal. The combination of good food, a comfortable setting, and a nice vibe made it a memorable stop during our trip. Overall, I’d definitely recommend Portage Bay
A good spot for brunch in SLU, especially because they allow reservations, which is always a big plus for popular brunch places. I’ve been here a few times now, and while some dishes can be a little hit or miss, overall it’s still a solid brunch option in the area. I’ve really liked their avocado toast and omelettes. The strawberry French toast was just okay for me, nothing too special. Overall, a decent and reliable brunch spot in SLU.
If you’re in South Lake Union, Seattle, this cafe is a must visit. The goat cheese omelet was one of best and all the ingredients were organic and locally sourced. The only reason I am giving this place 4-stars is that the coffee mug was not clean. We brought this issue to their attention and they replaced the coffee with a clean mug. Overall, highly recommended!
I canNOT say enough good things about this place! We had a reservation and we didn’t wait more than a minute or two to get seated even though the place was absolutely packed at lunchtime on the weekend. I don’t remember what my fiancé ordered, but I got a smoked salmon Benedict that was to die for! The flavors were amazing, our drinks were delicious, but those potatoes were out of this world! Crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and seasoned to absolute perfected. We’re looking forward to getting back there ASAP!
“We had such an amazing experience at Portage Bay Cafe during our trip to Seattle. The owner was incredibly welcoming to us as Canadians and genuinely happy that we came to visit Seattle. He was so attentive, took the time to speak with us personally, and made us feel truly valued as guests. We loved our first visit so much that we came back again on Mother’s Day — even though the restaurant was packed and reservations were full, they still made sure we were able to enjoy breakfast. The service was just as exceptional the second time around. The food was fantastic, the atmosphere was warm an
