The food was good. I think splitting the German sausage dog in half and grilling it is fantastic, other than I feel like mine ended up pretty dried out. Hubby got the Chicago dog and loved it. You can get it with a side salad, chips, or fries. He got the side salad and it was delicious. I got just a lighter fair German sausage dog and it came automatically with potato salad, which was excellent. I would have loved the addition of hard-boiled eggs, but other than that it was delicious. The friendliness of the bartender was fantastic and you could tell she was on top of everything even when it got super busy. She had black hair, a bun, and glasses, but I didn't catch her name. Drinks...if you're an old fashioned drinker, get one here, but be warned, with the addition of demerara syrup (Brown sugar, I had to look it up), you will fall in love. The lavender lemon drop was just okay. I couldn't really taste any lavender and it was super lemony. I felt like it was pure lemon juice to be honest. The atmosphere was delightful. They have games there that you can play. It looks like they have a lot of events going on throughout the summer as well. I would definitely go back! Parking was a little hard to find. If you are facing the restaurant it's on the right hand side. The other lot is supposedly only for the breakfast place.
Not impressed. I felt like the staff was borderline rude. We sat in the patio with our dog (they yelled at me to take it outside when I tried to carry my dog thru the bar to the patio entrance- they prefer you go thru the outside entrance, which is understandable, but a sign at the door could've told me that, rather than have the bartender yell across the room.) Anyway. It's fast-casual style. Order and pay at the counter and they give you buzzer so you know when to come back inside for your food. (This would be more difficult if you were solo, as you'd have to leave your pet unattended to order/ get your food & drinks.) The covered patio area was nice. Limited parking, but we had no trouble finding a spot. Restroom was clean, they had 2 and both seem to be unisex. Food was okay. I had the Cubano. My friend had the Caprese. The drink menu didn't sound appealing so we went with coca cola. Nothing wrong with the place, per se, but for this being my first time trying it, there wasn't anything that would make me want to come back.
We ordered the BBQ Carnitas and the Cubano panini which are served with your choice of chips, chowder or potato salad- we both chose the potato salad- and a pickled plate to share. We had the Pain Relief (?) Rum cocktail and the Ilwaco Cider Co Springrider Cran. I am always happy to see ICC listed on a drink menu. Everything was tasty. I might have done a little happy dance in my seat lol. Very friendly, nice atmosphere and a dog friendly cozy patio (not large). We are looking forward to a return visit!
We stopped at North Jetty specifically to see the shelter dogs and planned to stay and eat while we were there. I was pretty excited to try out a cocktail or two. Unfortunately, we ended up leaving without ordering because of how an interaction with a staff member was handled. We had gone onto the side patio with our kids and were abrasively told, “No minors allowed.” There was a 21+ sign at the patio, but we're visiting from Montana, where all alcohol establishments commonly have under-21/liquor-related signage. I didn't understand that in Washington this particular sign meant that this specific patio was legally designated as a minors-prohibited area under special licensing. Since North Jetty serves food, welcomes minors in until 7pm, and this looked like a normal outdoor dining patio, it was an honest misunderstanding. Afterward, I actually took the time to look up Washington's liquor licensing rules because the employee didn't explain it to us. I have absolutely no problem with the rule or with an employee enforcing it. What bothered me was the way it was handled. The staff member was abrasive and offered no explanation whatsoever besides it begin 21+. We weren't arguing about the rule or refusing to comply—we simply didn't understand why the shelter dogs would be out on that patio and why we would have to move children to the frint patio next to the budy road. It would have taken 15 seconds to say, “I'm sorry, this particular patio is designated 21+ under our liquor license, but you're welcome to sit with your kids in our family-friendly area.” Instead, the interaction made us feel so unwelcome that we simply left without eating, which was disappointing because we'd specifically stopped to support the shelter-dog event and planned to spend money there. Rules absolutely need to be enforced, but there's a big difference between enforcing a rule and being unnecessarily rude to customers. A little explanation and basic kindness would have completely changed our experience.
Everytime my husband and I visit the Washington coast we love stopping here, atleast, multiple times 😌 great environment and bartender is always super friendly. Love sitting out on the covered patio with the plants. They have a heater out there as well if you want the outdoor experience but don't want to be too chilly.
