Very crowded even at 9+pm. Staff were helpful to find a table for at that time in the evening. Beer selection is very good. Food is also nicely prepared and everything very well done. The fish and chips are perfectly crispy and the steak is worth ordering too. Worth a visit if you’re in town. One of the few restaurants that’s open late.
Next Door Gastropub has a creative menu with some unique options you don't see everywhere, which was probably the highlight of the meal. We tried the poutine, mac and cheese, and a burger. Everything was decent, but nothing really stood out or left us saying we had to come back for it. The portions were good, and the food was well prepared, but the prices felt a bit high for what was served. Overall, it was a solid meal, just not one that lived up to the cost or really impressed us. If you're looking to try something a little different, it's worth checking out, but I wouldn't go out of my way to return. Overall, a good experience—just not a memorable one.
If you're ever in Port Angeles, Washington, I definitely recommend The Next Door Gastropub. It's become one of my favorite places to eat. The atmosphere is fantastic, the staff is always friendly, and the service has consistently been excellent. The real stars of the menu are the smash burgers. They are absolutely delicious, and the fries are right up there with them. If you have room for dessert, don't skip it. The chocolate peanut butter pie was outstanding, and the crème brûlée cheesecake was just as impressive. The only thing that keeps this place from being a perfect 10, at least for me, is the clam chowder. They describe it as New England style, but as someone who makes it a point to try clam chowder whenever I get the chance, it just doesn't hit the mark. I've given it a couple of chances over the years, hoping it would improve, but unfortunately it hasn't. Of course, that's just my personal opinion, and everyone has different tastes. That one item aside, everything else has been consistently excellent. If I were giving it a rating, it would be a solid 9.5 out of 10. Great food, great people, and a great atmosphere. I'll definitely keep coming back, and I'll happily keep ordering those smash burgers.
Superb service, Erin was on top of everything. The food was surprisingly delicious. We had the crab dip, black and blue burger and the sirloin special. A lot of food for the price and it was outstanding. It gets really busy and rightfully so. Plan ahead or plan to wait. Definitely worth it.
For sure recommend. I pretty much never give a 5star but for a burger and a beer this place was close. I had a burger called the nutty professor PB, bacon, pickle, cheese and 2 smash burgers as recommended by the server I also ordered chips which it was obvious were made to order. It was legit!!! Also have a nice selection of beer on tap. My wife got their version for a French dip which was also great. For sure recommend if you are in Port Angeles.
