Grays Restaurant & Bar at the Hilton

My visit didn't begin well with the lady behind the bar bark at me she needed to see my ID before I would be served. I'm 64. Her colleague said she was just kidding. Then realised she wasn't. I ordered the Gray's wedge salad as it came with a ginger dressing, a favourite of mine. The salad duly arrived. Let's just say a pre packaged salad from the supermarket would have been better presented. No qualified chef prepared this. It was the worst restaurant produced salad I've ever seen. Tried breakfast here with the whole family during our dughter's dance event at the Hilton Hotel in Vancouver WA since it's location is very convenient to us. We love the quite and upscale atmosphere and food was delicious. We ordered the biscuits and gravy and although the portion was a bit small, it was very flavorful. We also got the silver dollar pancake and we appreciate that they were able to customized the omelette to my husband's liking. My ex roommate and I stopped here for burger week yesterday, it was such a huge burger for the price! We loved it! Cute spot right across from the Salmon bell tower so we got to people watch from a window table.

1 &1/2 stars Unfortunately, Gray’s goes on to my very short list of; “one and done.” Staff was kind and friendly - the ambiance was lovely. Service while personable was inconsistent and slow. Food: Pastries seemed as if they were (at least) a day old. Our meals - aside from arriving less than warm, simply weren’t palatable. I ordered the meatless omelette - I had two bites and requested hot sauce. Tried another bite with hot sauce - no improvement. Truthfully, this dish had an *unpleasant taste. Mr. Wonderful ordered the “Chef’s Twisted Bennies.” He rated his meal a 2 on a scale of 1 to 5.
