Great place to meet with Friends or Family. Limited choices of food but many types of drinks, beer or ciders. I had the Blackberry Cider. They had our Mt Vernon Parks Mixer Race After Party. So Much Fun. It's in the Middle of May at Little Mt. Park. Run, Hike or Mt Bike.
I love Farmstrong but I LOVE Rooted Kitchen, the on-premises food truck. The chef, Mark, uses local and in-season ingredients and has a new menu posted each week. Mark always includes favorites like the pretzels and braves potatoes, along with a few stand out dishes each week. I stop by any week that he has a bowl - PNW Shimp Bowls, Pork Tenderloin Bowls, Blackened Salmon Rice Bowls... you can't go wrong, and you can't miss this gem. Farmstrong can be quite noisy, but they recently opened a second floor called the "Hayloft" and they always have outdoor seating available, both of which are much quieter.
Last time, I got their cheese steak sandwich. I may ask for a fork next time. It was awesome! So much of their food looks good, and from the people I talked to, it has all been awesome! You can get it with sautéed onions, mushrooms, and jalapeños... I didn't get the jalapeños this time, but it definitely will next time. I also got both cheeses, but I'm kind of a tidy eater, so I will probably go with just one next time. Yesterday I went there again and decided to splurge. I got the Poutine, fried cauliflower, and a Cuban sandwich... These are from Rooted Kitchen at Farmstrong. The Cuban sandwich was pretty classic, except the pickles are kind of like bread and butter pickles (I prefer dill) The fried cauliflower was amazing. I shared with the guy who was at the same table with me. The poutine was ok. The brown gravy was a bit salty and kind of overpowered the rest of the dish. Overall, everything was good to great. I will get the sandwich and the cauliflower again in the future, but I probably won't get the poutine unless something changes. Update: 5/4/2025 had the Cajun Grilled Shrimp. The menu changes regularly, so don't expect to get that thing you loved ever again. I loved what I had last time but sadly it isn't there anymore. The shrimp dish I had was $18, and it was pretty small. I don't mind small as I don't eat much but for $18 I felt it was on the pricy side for 6 shrimp (prawns really, they were large) the vegetables that came with them were very good, peppers, and zucchini. I wasn't a fan of the corn mush on the bottom. I know they were going with the Cajun theme. I'd have preferred like a tagliatelle in brown butter garlic sauce instead of sweet corn. Taking a bite with the corn, I couldn't taste the delicate shrimp. The shrimp were perfectly cooked and seasoned flawlessly. Even just more veg and no corn would have been better.
Very relaxed and friendly atmosphere. They always seem to go above and beyond to make us feel like they really appreciate our business and that means a lot! There are plenty of other options in the area, but we always choose Farmstrong! You can tell they know their beer and are very proud of it (and they should be)! Lots of GF drink options and a really cool food truck that serves some unique and delicious bites! I would only recommend a few little outdoor activities for kids (giant Jenga, checkers, etc.), but does not detract from a great experience! Our kids love it there! We'll definitely be back!
A great brewery with a beer for every taste, unrivaled community support— from the bands they post to the food they serve… truly an exemplary example of a great brewery. Shout out to the great service!
