Have driven past a few times thinking it looked like a cute spot to have tea and a pastry. Oh, how little did I know!!! The full parking lot was the first clue. A party of 15 ahead of us and a steady incoming stream of people following us was the 2nd clue. And then the pastry cases up front were "blow me away" convincing. Both my son and I have extensive culinary training. My son had the Bacon & Mushroom Quiche. He said the crust was well made, perfectly flakey. This bakery completely stole my heart. I had one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever eaten and I’m not exaggerating when I say I’ll probably be thinking about it for years to come. It was one of those meals where you immediately start planning when you can go back. And don’t even get me started on the pastries… absolutely incredible. Everything tasted fresh, homemade, and made with so much care. On top of that, the staff was so friendly and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. Amazing food and wonderful people. This place is a gem.

We had to camp for a spot for a bit until someone left. The parking lot outside the restaurant was a free public parking lot, and it was quite difficult to find a spot with the fair going on. The Mt. Vernon location has been a great spot for breakfast/brunch. They have an amazing selection of baked goods (cookies, cinnamon rolls, croissants), as well as a full sit down menu. Personally, I love their savory breakfast items.. great salmon omelet. Weekends can get pretty busy, but the wait goes by fairly fast.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Calico Cupboard – Mount Vernon We had breakfast here this morning and it was fantastic! I ordered the bacon eggs benedict and it was absolutely delicious. The service was friendly, attentive, and welcoming from start to finish. We dined in and even though there was a short wait, it moved quickly and was well worth it. The ambiance is cozy and charming, and I was impressed by how many options they have. I didn’t try anything from the bakery this time, but I snapped a few photos — everything looked incredible with so many tempting choices. I’ll definitely be back to try some of those!
