Boat Shed Restaurant

Just had a late lunch here this afternoon with my father-in-law and we are both still raving about the food, the service and just a great afternoon we had. We sat out on their deck with a wonderful view on the water. We started off with the crab/shrimp stuffed mushrooms which were Devine!!!! Then I had the halibut tacos (a special of the day) and he had the seafood linguini. both dishes were cannot stop raving about! The food is fresh, deep in flavor but not heavy. We then decided to finish off with a peach crisp dessert with ice cream - sinful!! Everything was so good. Our server (I did not catch her name) was friendly and engaging. Also the other folks clearing/ bussing the tables were also fantastic. Also the people seating us in the front of the house were friendly and welcoming! After getting home for a bit of a nap (food coma) we are already planning our future visits (while rubbing our happy but full bellies). Thanks 🙏 so much! It was such a nice afternoon and we will be back again.

Two couples for dinner on a Wednesday at 5:00 PM, two first timers and one who had dined here many years ago… all four of us were a bit disappointed and underwhelmed here. The setting / location is very nice, we sat on the deck with adequate sun cover (umbrella). Pretty busy for 5:00 PM, but no wait to be seated. All staff friendly enough and at times, attentive. Margaritas were decent (with tequila upgrade). Martinis were satisfactory tasting. However, my first martini was proudly delivered with a huge amount of lipstick on the rim (sorry I did not wish to highlight to our friends so no photo), instantly visible as it was placed before me. Poor, not hot enough dishwashing machine? Am I picky for not desiring to drink from that glass? Wonder what else was still co-mingled within the said lipstick? Quietly pointed it out to the server and she “got it” and replaced it (good). But what kind of seeing bartender can prepare a cocktail in such a glass, and doubly the server cannot notice that too? It’s a sign of bigger issues I fear/suppose. Anyways not a crisis yet not cool either. Stuffed mushrooms were pretty good, though all cheesed together and come apart from both the cheese and the stuffing as you serve them such that all of them were eaten as plain mushrooms with a side of cheese and a side of trace stuffing, there’s a more clever way to construct them to make them nicer when they land on the plate, a detail of course but even my amateur stuffed mushrooms stay stuffed when served. 😂 Fish and chips pretty okay, not special. Seafood linguine tasted good, bit skimpy on the seafood for the price. Clam chowder for all four of us was the worst we’d had in ages, it was an okay tasting soup but odd as hell, in New England it would be a legal violation to call it clam or chowder, and worst it was served at room temperature (really inexcusable) so had to send it back to add some temperature. Everyone: do not eat room temperature clam chowder, I learned the hard way to never tolerate that. The crab salad was served with the wrong dressing, and we asked for the correct one, amazingly the server brought a different wrong dressing! Consistent in her inattention anyways. Server needs to attend dressing school? Lastly, we ordered another margarita which did not show up for 20 minutes, server: oops yeah I forgot to place your order completely, thanks for reminding me. So, while enjoyed coming here and took the mistakes quietly and tipped okay out of sympathy or sense of obligation, I felt compelled to share here that this place is just average. We won’t return, as there are similar average places that have some good attributes which are more affordable and fun. Maybe they rest on past laurels here, not sure?

Excellent date night spot! The entrees are a little spendy for what you get portion-wise but it’s all delectable. Highly recommend the zucchini floret starter and lava cake dessert! There was a notable wait time between courses, but the food is worthy of a wait for the most part.

The view was gorgeous from our table by the window, even though it was raining. Our server was kind and attentive. The food was amazing.

We love this place! Every time we visit, we’re guaranteed a good time. ​We came for a Valentine’s date night, and the ribeye steak and scallops were absolutely delicious. The seasonal cocktails were 10/10! ​The staff is always so friendly and helpful, which makes the vibe even better. It’s right by the water with a great view, and sitting on the patio in the summertime is a must. Definitely our go-to spot! Highly recommend!
