After a great visit to the Oregon zoo yesterday,April 15th,we decided to try Black Bear Diner. My son ordered the New York style steak and I ordered the homemade chicken pot pie. The waitress was nice, fast and very attentive. (Sorry,I forgot her name) I believe she was the only one serving the whole restaurant, and where we sat there was like 5 active tables,so she was busy. ( understaffed day?) We liked the atmosphere and loved the newspaper style menus. We ordered and the waiting time was surprisingly short. My son and I look at each other like..what?.. First visit at this establishment. The atmosphere is friendly and warm. It feels homie. We were greeted by a gentleman who took our order. The food was great, like I would make it at home. The orange juice is fresh squeezed and it took me by surprise on how tasty it was. All in all, I would recommend it to a family and I will come back with mine.

Really good portion sizes and always bringing home leftovers. Noting to those visiting that you pay up front at the register, not at your table. I'm from WA, but I'd make the 4 hour drive for those fries!

There's not a lot of meat on it at all. It's just like you're chewing skin with a whole bunch of batter. But there are fish and chips. There are regular fish and chips are amazing They have just the right amount of meat for the right a
