Just a really great breakfast place in Lake Oswego. Been a while since I was last here but just as good as ever. I never notice as a breakfast place they don't have pancakes but only waffles... But the quality of the food is great and the servers nice and attentive. Also great for those who gave gluten allergies as they have gluten free options a plenty.
We went to Babica Hen in Lake Oswego after it was recommended by a friend and arrived around noon for a late breakfast. We were seated right away, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. My husband ordered the pork schnitzel, and I ordered the fried prawns and polenta Benedict. I asked our server for recommendations, and she offered a few helpful options, which I appreciated. Stopped in for brunch on a whim today. We had been here a long time ago and forgotten just how good it is! We split the Vanilla Bread Pudding French Toast (baked and served with mascarpone cream, banana, and fresh caramel). It was a massive portion and a combination of two of my favorite things—it doesn't get much better than that. It was very tasty, though a little dry for my taste, so I did need a side of syrup. I love this place. It has a cozy vibe with warm colors throughout. Their food is always great and never disappoints. If you need a gluten-free option, their gf waffles are fantastic. I don't need a gluten-free option but they are that good. They also have good coffee drinks, which is important for a breakfast place.
The bloody Mary with side of biscuit and gravy is very good. Thought the gravy was way too thick and salty, maybe a bad batch? Wife loved her standard eggs, bacon, toast and country potatoes. Warning on the weekends come after 12:00 or the wait times can be ridiculous.
